It has been a long Winter. At least five months of bare trees trunks, waking up in darkness and your breath ascending into steam clouds above your head. Finally it is April. The sun is out, the thick coats are off and the trees are blossoming.
Come summer my social media newsfeed will be overwhelmed with images of Lake Bled. Beautiful photos of it’s gothic island church and the rolling backdrop of Julian Alps (along with a few rowboat selfies, I expect).
When I told people that I was going to Vilnius, the majority stared back at me blankly. “Where is Vilnius?”, they asked. Well my friends, Vilnius is of course Lithuania’s beautiful capital.
